Luna-Tick Abyssinians

- owned by Abyssinians since 1986

Hello and welcome to our homepage

We are Marianne & Lars Seifert-Thorsen and live in the small town Køge, approx. 30 minutes south of Copenhagen. We live in a large house in a residential area.
We have had abys since 1986. Our first aby Cicero was bought as a pet and was never shown or used for breeding.
Showing and breeding tickled our fancy from the early days, but it wasn't until 1991 when we went to Texas and took home FIFé EC./EP. Alexy's Charming Tina of Cheetara, a very beautiful blue female, we began our journey in the world of cat shows.
In 1993 we had our first litter and since then we have had 1 to 2 litters per year.

In 1998 we went to the US again and took home FIFé IC./CFA C. Purssynian Dania aka "Nia", fawn female. We will forever be grateful to Nia's breeders, Beth & Darrell Newkirk, Purssynian Abyssinians who trusted us with this special girl.
Nia is the first fawn abyssinian who have gotten the prestigious title DM in all of FIFe, Nia is a daugther of another fantastic fawn DM: GC. Purssynian Jambe Finite, DM, who until now have around 50 offsprings with the CFA title GC or GP, truly an outstanding achievement! Today Nia is a spay.

In 2003 another Purssynian girl came to Denmark: EC. Purssynian Be My Valentine, DSM. Beam as she's called, have a lot of fun and do great at shows. She was Cat Of The Year in Denmark in 2003/2004, the first blue to have achieved this title. Beam is also the first blue female to obtain the title DSM - Distinguished Show Merit. To be awarded the DSM-title, a cat must be Best In Show 10 times over a period of no less than 2 years and 1 day.
Thank you Beth and Darrell for your trust in us and the wonderful friendship we share.

In April 2003 another new girl arrived: Windjammer's Jazzy Jam. Pysen as her nickname is (hard to translate) is bred by Katarina Wolfram, Windjammer's cattery in Sweden.

In February 2005, Marianne went "home" to St. Louis and took home another feline friend. His name is Indiabi Rhett and is a gorgeous, stylish and so loving red boy. Thank you Judy Laffin of Indiabi Abyssinians for letting us share our life with this wonderful boy, he is truly magnificent!

In our own breeding programme we have been lucky enough to have bred some wonderful cats. In particular we would like to mention WW03 EC/IP. Luna-Tick's Jenny Juniper, DSM, blue spay. Jenny is the first World Winner in Denmark amongst the abyssinians. She gained her World Winner title at the largest FIFe World Show ever. 1403 cats entered in Copenhagen November 2003 and out of all these cats, our blue girl took home the title World Winner!
She's also the very first aby in FIFe to achieve the Distinguished Show Merit (DSM) title.

We're members of Katteklubben a Felis Danica club. Felis Danica is affiliated to FIFe and we breed under the rules set by FIFe and Felis Danica. We're also members of the breed council for Abyssinians under FIFe.
